Nonresident Nebraska spring turkey permits sold out

No more 2023 Nebraska spring turkey permits are available to nonresidents. The quota of 10,000 permits has sold out. Permits were available for purchase by nonresidents beginning Jan. 9, 2023. The last permit of the quota was purchased March 24. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission in 2022 made several changes to turkey hunting orders at the August 2022 meeting in response to a declining turkey population across the state. Turkey hunters can buy permits Jan. 9, get familiar with changes

Several changes await Nebraska wild turkey hunters in 2023. Hunters can begin purchasing their spring season permits from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission beginning at 1 p.m. Jan. 9 and should become familiar with the changes before the season opens. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will accept lottery applications for mountain lion permits Nov. 7 – Dec. 14, 2022, for the 2023 hunting season. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will consider 2022-2023 waterfowl hunting season recommendations at its March 23 meeting in Nebraska City. Bighorn sheep lottery applications begin April 19

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will accept applications for a 2021 bighorn sheep lottery permit beginning April 19. The application period ends Aug. 6, and the permit will be drawn later that month. A $29 nonrefundable application fee must accompany each application. Only Nebraska residents are eligible for the lottery. Apply at a Nebraska Game and Parks office or at OutdoorNebraska.org. The 2021 bighorn sheep season is Nov. 30 – Dec. 22, 2021.
