Pound Middle School to Host NASP Tournament in Lincoln

LINCOLN – A statewide youth archery tournament will take place at the Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln on Feb. 7. The tournament, hosted by Pound Middle School in Lincoln, is open to any participant in the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). Competition flights are limited to 32 archers and will begin at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon. Registration is 45 minutes before each flight. The cost is $10. NASP is an in-school curriculum …

Archery on Fire Events Dec. 6 in Lincoln, Platte River SP

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will host free family archery events Dec. 6 in Lincoln and at Platte River State Park. These Archery on Fire events are designed to introduce a new outdoor skill to the beginner and to let more experienced archers sharpen their skills. Ponca SP Hosting Day of Crafts, Archery

LINCOLN – Visit Ponca State Park on Nov. 8 for a day of crafts and archery. At 10 a.m., learn about the owls that live in the park while you make an ornamental pinecone owl. Game and Parks to Debut Outdoor Encounter at Nebraska State Fair

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will debut a state-of-the art interactive outdoor experience – Outdoor Encounter – at the 2014 Nebraska State Fair. The Outdoor Encounter includes an aquarium, archery range and shooting gallery. The Outdoor Encounter, housed in the new Nebraska Building, includes a 5,900-gallon aquarium stocked with more than 150 fish commonly found in Nebraska. LINCOLN – Archery is gaining popularity in Nebraska and across the nation. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission on Nov. 18 launched its Archery on Fire promotion to grow archery as an outdoor activity. It also has scheduled a shooting event Dec. 7. Halloween Archery Night Scheduled at Lincoln Archery Range

LINCOLN – A Halloween Families on Target Archery Night is scheduled for Oct. 29 at the Lincoln Archery Range. This free event will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Archery equipment will be provided, and yardage, 3-D and aerial targets will be available. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
