New Outdoor Education Center Grand Opening June 7

LINCOLN – The public is invited to the grand opening of the Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln on June 7. The event at 4701 N. 44th St. will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those who attend the grand opening can try the center’s indoor shooting range and indoor and outdoor archery ranges free of cost. Man Hospitalized in Branched Oak Boating Accident

LINCOLN – A Lincoln man was hospitalized with serious injuries to his chest and arm in a boating accident late Monday afternoon at Branched Oak Reservoir in Lancaster County. He was struck by the propeller of the boat in which he was riding. Kent Seevers, 26, of Lincoln, was a passenger seated in the front of a motorboat along with four other occupants. Learn Outdoor Skills as a Family at Two Rivers SRA

LINCOLN – Learn lifelong outdoor skills as a family at the Becoming an Outdoors-Family workshop June 28-29 at Two Rivers State Recreational Area near Waterloo. Skills learned will help families enjoy the outdoors, create memories and start new traditions. Northwest District Birding Day Set for June 4

LINCOLN – The public is invited to join the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for Northwest District Birding Day on June 4 at Merritt Reservoir State Recreation Area (SRA) in Cherry County. Birders will depart from the Cedar Bay boat ramp on the southeast side of the reservoir at 7 and 8:30 a.m. Group birding will continue until 11 a.m., but individuals may extend their birding into the afternoon. Deadline Nearing for Crop Stubble Incentives

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is reminding landowners that they have until June 1 to enroll in a program that pays for keeping wheat and milo stubble tall during this year’s harvest. Last year, the Nebraska Environmental Trust awarded $1.5 million to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to enroll tall wheat and milo stubble into the Crop Stubble Management, Wildlife and Water Conservation Program over three years.
