The Rope Buck

The stuff one witnesses in the great outdoors never ceases to amaze. As of late, enter the story of the “rope buck.” During Nebraska’s 2019 muzzleloader deer hunting season in December, the neighboring landowner who lives to the south of our farm was in his stand watching for white-tailed deer. The late deer hunting season is over in Nebraska and now it is time for me to unravel a mystery in the woods of the family farm where I hunt. Public may rent hunting equipment at University of Nebraska-Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. – Hunting equipment now is available for rent by the public at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Outdoor Adventure Center. Rental has been offered to the university’s students for about a year, and recently expanded to allow the public to rent the equipment, too. Game and Parks Commission reports results of chronic wasting disease testing

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has tallied the results of its sampling efforts for chronic wasting disease in deer during the November 2019 firearm season, and the results show the presence of chronic wasting disease in Howard County of central Nebraska for the first time. Game and Parks conducted chronic wasting disease sampling at deer check stations in northwestern and northeastern Nebraska during the firearm deer season by removing lymph nodes for testing.
