Lake Ogallala Fishing Bridge to be Temporarily Removed

LINCOLN – The fishing bridge located at the north end of Lake Ogallala State Recreation Area soon will be removed because of wind damage. In late February, extremely strong winds caused irreparable damage to the aging docks that made up the fishing bridge. Nebraska Game and Parks staff assessed the damage and determined the bridge was not safe for use. The bridge will be removed in the next few weeks. LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will stock nearly 41,000 catchable-size rainbow trout in city ponds and lakes across the state this month to enhance spring fishing opportunities. LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will certify youth fishing instructors March 12 at Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium, 21502 W. Neb. Hwy. 31, Gretna, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Youth fishing instructors will receive training and tools to conduct fishing clinics. LINCOLN – Applications for archery paddlefish permits will be received by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission March 1-14. The application period begins at 1 p.m. Central Time on March 1.
