Celebrate Halloween at a state park

LINCOLN, Neb. – Make your Halloween truly memorable this year and celebrate at a state park. Throughout October, Nebraska state parks and recreation areas will host more than a dozen family-friendly events filled with Halloween fun.

Events include:

– Howl in the Hills Night Hike, Oct. 14, Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area: Experience the Wildcat Hills like never before, at night. Discover all the creatures that go “bump” in the night during a half-mile hike.

– 22nd Annual Haunted Hollow Hayrack Rides, October 14, 20-21, 27-28, Indian Cave State Park: Hop on a haunted hayrack ride and enjoy the beautiful park grounds.

– 30th Annual Pumpkin Carvers Event, Oct. 21, Calamus State Recreation Area: Come visit the park and enjoy a day of carving pumpkins. This year there will also be snow cones, cotton candy and kids’ games.

– Vintage Halloween, Oct 21-22, 28-29, Arbor Lodge State Historical Park: Celebrate with vintage Halloween customs, games, crafts and décor.

A park permit is required for each vehicle entering the park.
