Free workshop to focus on spring turkey hunting

LINCOLN, Neb. – Learn all aspects of spring turkey hunting at a free workshop hosted by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

The workshop will be held in six locations across the state and is designed for individuals with limited experience who want to expand their knowledge of turkey hunting. Topics will include strategies, equipment, turkey biology and ways to increase a hunter’s confidence and success.

With lots of birds, a long season and plentiful and affordable permits – including $8 permits for youth – Nebraska offers the best turkey hunting opportunities in the United States and is a great place for new hunters to get started.

The schedule is:

March 16 – Columbus, VFW Post 3704, 2720 23rd St., 6:30-8:30 p.m.

March 21 – Hastings, Lincoln Park Fire Station, 1145 S. Hastings Ave., 6-8:30 p.m.

March 28 – Lincoln, Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center, 4703 N. 44th St., 6-8:30 p.m.

March 28 – Omaha, Omaha Gun Club, 2828 S.82nd Ave., 6-8:30 p.m.

April 5 – North Platte, Nebraska Game and Parks Southwest District Office, 301 E. State Farm Road, 6-8:30 p.m.

April 6 – Gretna, Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium, 21502 W. Neb. Highway 31, 6-8:30 p.m.
