Game and Parks Returning to 2016 State Fair with New Features, Lots of Activities

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will return to the Nebraska Building for the 2016 Nebraska State Fair with a full schedule of fun activities for the entire family.

Popular features and activities include an indoor archery range, indoor air gun range, kids’ Nerf gun range, 6,000-gallon aquarium featuring Nebraska fish, indoor meandering stream, kids’ games, demonstrations and more.

New this year is an Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible outdoor sky fort, a playground that gives kids the opportunity to learn about wildlife through active play.

There also is a video display detailing the reintroduction of bighorn sheep in Nebraska. Additionally, a NEBRASKAland Magazine photo display will feature prints of wildlife, landscapes and beautiful scenes from outdoor Nebraska. The prints will be available for purchase.

Game and Parks staff and volunteers will give a variety of presentations over the course of the fair on topics such as turkey calls, fish cleaning, outdoor cooking with kids, and much more.
