I’ll be covering key messages for Nebraska’s popular archery deer hunting season opener on my WOWT 6 News 6 Outdoor Report this week. The season is well underway, it opened Sept. 1!

One of the messages I’ll be relaying to fellow deer hunters this season is the importance of wearing a tree stand safety harness. My friends at Outdoor Life magazine say it’s vital to be an educated “smart dummy” and use a safety harness if you’re going to be hunting from an elevated position.

Another message I’ll be conveying to fellow deer hunters is to join me in contributing to Nebraska’s Hunters Helping the Hungry program.
I’ll cover more important information that you need to know regarding Nebraska’s 2014 archery deer hunting season on my report which airs LIVE on Omaha’s WOWT 6 News Thursday evening during the station’s 6 p.m. CST sportscast.
If you’re unable to view the live broadcast of my report, I remind you that video replays of the outdoor report can be seen here. The report can also be accessed on Digital Channel 6.2 and Cox Cable Channel 120. Additionally, Channel 6 runs the weekly outdoor report on Saturdays later in its hour-long 8 a.m. newscast. The WOWT 6 Sports Machine crew and I thank you for watching and your interest in Nebraska’s great outdoors!
