Bands, Bike Tours and Lots of Food on Tap for Toast Nebraska Wine Festival

LINCOLN – Lincoln reggae group Ro Hempel Band will be the featured entertainment during the Toast Nebraska wine festival, slated for May 3-4 at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park.

Omaha group The Labels also will play during the first-ever wine festival, which will showcase wines from 17 wineries across the state.  Group Therapy Bike Tours will allow groups of up to 15 people to pedal around the park on a specially designed oversized bicycle. Experts will give educational seminars on wine and olive oil. Food options will include fare from Omaha’s Fusion BBQ, as well as wood-fired pizza, Mexican cuisine, gourmet popcorn and cupcakes from Le Cupcake, which was featured on the Food Network show “Cupcake Wars” in 2012.

Ticket prices range from $25 to $65, with the latter including commemorative items, limited edition wines and gourmet buffet. All ticket prices include unlimited wine tastings.  A select number of cabins and lodge rooms are also being held at the park for guests of the festival.  Tickets can be purchased at toastnebraska.com or by calling 402-882-2448.

The event is hosted by the Nebraska Winery and Grape Growers Association and Blur Parties and sponsored by the Nebraska Tourism Commission and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
