LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission approved recommendations for 2020 deer, antelope and elk hunting seasons at its meeting May 8 in Lincoln. Commissioners adopted the proposed staff amendments to Commission orders pertaining to season dates, bag limits, permit quantities and areas open for deer, antelope and elk hunting. LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission adopted 2020/2021 waterfowl hunting season recommendations at its March 20 meeting in Hastings. Before approving, commissioners changed some duck season dates in zones 2 and 3 to allow for a Saturday opening day. LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission still is seeking input on proposed changes to duck zone and goose unit boundaries for the 2021-2022 hunting seasons. Additional proposed changes for dark (Canada) goose units have been made in Boone and Wheeler counties. Public may rent hunting equipment at University of Nebraska-Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. – Hunting equipment now is available for rent by the public at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Outdoor Adventure Center. Rental has been offered to the university’s students for about a year, and recently expanded to allow the public to rent the equipment, too. LINCOLN, Neb. – The deadline to submit public input to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission on potential changes to duck zone and goose unit boundaries for 2021-2022 is Nov. 30. LINCOLN, Neb. – Rainwater Basin wetlands observed during an aerial survey Aug. 29 are mostly full of water due to above-normal rainfall, so little pumping is planned, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Wetland conditions also are good throughout most of the rest of the state, resulting in excellent habitat for waterfowl and creating good opportunities for waterfowl hunters. LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, along with Ducks Unlimited, is thrilled to announce a new challenge for waterfowl hunters – the Nebraska Duck Slam. The Nebraska Duck Slam challenges hunters to harvest a teal (blue-winged or green-winged) of either sex, as well as drakes of three other species: an American wigeon, a mallard and a northern pintail. LINCOLN, Neb. – Dove hunting season begins soon and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has some reminders for those hunters, as well as recommendations for areas to hunt. Doves may be hunted statewide. The season is Sept. 1 – Oct. 30, with daily bag and possession limits of 15 and 45, respectively.
