Another Great Gobbler Experience in Nebraska!

I was fortunate enough to have another great gobbler experience this weekend here in Nebraska and was even able to bag yet another bearded bird in northern Douglas County yesterday! I had to really work to bag this adult gobbler with his thick 9-inch beard and 1-inch spurs. The toms were active but the birds were pretty well bunched up probably due to the weather. Outdoor Writer Gets His First Nebraska Turkey

Congratulations to my buddy Mark Davis, Omaha World-Herald Outdoor Writer and Photojournalist, on harvesting his first-ever wild turkey in Nebraska this morning – a nice jake with a crossbow in Washington County during our spring archery season! Special thanks to buddy Jim Druliner of Omaha (Jimmy D.) for taking Mark hunting! It was fun to help arrange the hunt. Needless to say that Mark is now completely hooked on spring wild turkey hunting in Nebraska!
