Grove Trout Rearing Station temporarily closing for maintenance

The Grove Trout Rearing Station near Royal, Nebraska, in Antelope County, will close to visitors April 11-15 for maintenance and inspection on the diversion pond. “While the maintenance takes place, staff will be using heavy equipment, and public safety is taken into consideration for this closure,” Fish Production Manager Joe Cassidy said. “While this is a necessary part of the operation of the facility, we want this to be brief and resume public visitation. Trout stockings begin; Two Rivers Trout Lake opens March 12

It’s time to go trout fishing again in Nebraska. Rainbow trout are being stocked in city ponds and lakes across the state in March to enhance fishing opportunities this spring, especially in urban areas. Additionally, the Two Rivers State Recreation Area Trout Lake in Douglas County will open March 12. By then, more than 12,000 rainbow and tiger trout will have been stocked in the lake. LINCOLN, Neb. – The trout lake at Two Rivers State Recreation Area in Douglas County will open Saturday, March 6 for family fishing. The lake will be stocked with 10,000 11- to 12-inch rainbow trout in time for the opener. All trout caught in the lake must be harvested and not released. Surplus trout stocked in Frenchman #1

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. – Surplus catchable-size rainbow trout were stocked in Frenchman Wildlife Management Area pond #1 north of Palisade on May 20. These hatchery-raised trout are stocked in city ponds and lakes across the state by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Harlan Stilling Basin Trout Stocking Canceled

LINCOLN – The scheduled rainbow trout stocking of the Harlan County Dam stilling basin has been canceled because of the uncertainty of water releases from the lake. The trout stocking was scheduled for Oct. 16, assuming no water was to be released from the lake this fall. However, plans apparently call for a release of water to take place.
