Surplus trout stocked in Frenchman #1

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. – Surplus catchable-size rainbow trout were stocked in Frenchman Wildlife Management Area pond #1 north of Palisade on May 20. These hatchery-raised trout are stocked in city ponds and lakes across the state by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. A good production year has left Rock Creek Hatchery with 675 extra rainbow trout that will provide local anglers the opportunity to bag a new species. Two Rivers SRA Trout Lake closed for foreseeable future

LINCOLN, Neb. – Due to damage caused by recent flooding, Two Rivers State Recreation Area’s Trout Lake will not be open for put-and-take trout fishing for the foreseeable future. The lake flooded and must be assessed to determine the potential impact of other species of fish from the river system. The access road to Two Rivers, as well as interior roads, also was damaged. Fall Trout Stocking Has Begun

LINCOLN – Catchable-size rainbow trout are being stocked by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission in October to enhance fishing opportunities this fall and winter. Harlan Stilling Basin Trout Stocking Canceled

LINCOLN – The scheduled rainbow trout stocking of the Harlan County Dam stilling basin has been canceled because of the uncertainty of water releases from the lake. The trout stocking was scheduled for Oct. 16, assuming no water was to be released from the lake this fall. However, plans apparently call for a release of water to take place. LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will stock catchable-size rainbow trout in several city ponds and lakes across the state this month.
