Trout Slam Update, Summer 2022

I promise, we have not forgotten about Trout Slam certificates.  Quite a few entries came in this fall; time to get a batch of certificates sent out and time to give you an update! LINCOLN, Neb. – More rainbow trout are being stocked in Omaha, Lincoln and Eugene T. Mahoney State Park waters this month to provide excellent fishing opportunities this winter. Trout are being stocked the week of Dec. 14 at Omaha’s Standing Bear Lake (3,750 trout) and Mahoney’s CenturyLink Lake (3,500). LINCOLN, Neb. – Anglers at the Two Rivers State Recreation Area (SRA) trout lake are facing some stiff competition. Double-crested cormorants recently discovered the lake. As a result, the fish-eating birds have lowered the anglers’ catch rates. A daily trout tag is required to attempt to take and to possess trout on the area March 1 through June 30.
