LINCOLN – Fall turkey hunters are being surveyed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to learn more about their hunting experiences. The information gathered during the survey will be used to estimate fall season harvest and determine hunter satisfaction and opinions on aspects of their hunting experience. LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission wants to remind deer hunters that it is continuing to survey of deer hunters through Jan. 22. This survey is conducted every five years and is designed to gather hunter information about experiences, attitudes and opinions related to the 2015 deer season. Northern Bobwhite Appears to Continue Recovery

LINCOLN – Results of a survey indicate that northern bobwhite populations appear to be continuing their rebound in Nebraska following the severe winters of 2009-2010 and the severe drought of 2012-2013. The observed increases of abundance from this summer’s northern bobwhite (quail) whistle count also imply that the population was not further set back by the heavy rains in May and June this year. National Survey Will Explore Dove Hunter Opinions

LINCOLN, Neb. – Some Nebraska dove hunters will be asked to participate in the National Dove Hunter Survey. Hunters will begin seeing surveys in the mail later in June. The national survey will ask dove hunters to share their experiences and opinions about dove hunting. Topics will include learning about hunter characteristics, time spent hunting, hunters’ perceived constraints to hunting, and thoughts about potential effects of spent lead from hunting ammunition on mourning doves and other wildlife.
