The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission certified six state fishing records in 2021, including the underwater spearfishing channel catfish mark that was broken twice in eight days. It was a record that had stood for more than 20 years. LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has certified three state fishing records in recent months. — Nicholas Batt of Elkhorn set a hook-and-line record April 12 when he caught a 3-pound, 1-ounce tiger trout on a night crawler while fishing the North Platte River below Lake Ogallala. “Tiger trout are a brown trout/brook trout hybrid. Several State Fishing Records Certified

LINCOLN – Several Nebraska fishing records have been certified since July, including two by archer Ryan Reynolds of Lexington. The first was a 2-ounce alewife he arrowed July 22 at Elwood Reservoir in Gosper County. The second was a 3-pound, 9-ounce smallmouth bass taken Aug. 10 at Phillips Canyon Reservoir, also in Gosper County. Three other archery records have been set.
