Marina Bay, Thunder Bay east boat ramps open at Sherman Reservoir

Repairs have been completed, and the Marina Bay boat ramp is open at Sherman Reservoir State Recreation Area. Because of the rising lake level, the east boat ramp at Thunder Bay also is open. Low water levels in the reservoir had exposed a significant settlement of the east lane of the Marina Bay ramp, which had caused a nearly 5-inch lip to occur on the ramp. Two campgrounds closed temporarily for construction at Sherman

The Thunder Bay and West Ridge campgrounds at Sherman Reservoir State Recreation Area near Loup City are closed temporarily because of construction. Electrical and RV sites are being added to those two campgrounds. Work is scheduled to be completed in the spring. Visit Outdoornebraska.gov/parks to find camping sites in Nebraska state park areas.

Calamus’ Buckshot Bay ramp to temporarily close July 13

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Buckshot Bay boat ramp at Calamus State Recreation Area near Burwell will be closed temporarily Monday, July 13 to repair the dock damaged by a weekend storm. The ramp is expected to reopen by mid-afternoon. Additionally, the storm damaged some trees at Sherman Reservoir State Recreation Area near Loup City. Sherman Reservoir to Celebrate 50 Years

LINCOLN, Neb. – A 50th anniversary celebration of Sherman Reservoir as a centerpiece for agriculture and tourism will be held June 7-9. Events will take place at Sherman Reservoir State Recreation Area, as well as in Loup City and Ashton. Activities will include music, food and several fishing events.
