Spend some time this summer in Nebraska’s state parks. During June, a variety of events are planned for those interested in history, conservation, nature and just having a good time. Here are several examples: Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area Bioblitz Enjoy two days of exploring the outdoors June 3-4 at the Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area Bioblitz in North Platte. Rock Creek Trail Days Set for June 4-5

LINCOLN – Enjoy living history demonstrations at the annual Rock Creek Trail Days on June 4-5 at Rock Creek Station State Historical Park. Starting at 9 a.m. both days, living history reenactors will demonstrate blacksmithing, basket weaving, flint knapping and horse shoeing. Black powder gun demonstrations, Pony Express runs and skirmish reenactments also will be held periodically. Rock Creek Trail Days June 1-2

LINCOLN, Neb. – Several historical interpretations, re-enactments and displays are scheduled for Rock Creek Trail Days, June 1-2 at Rock Creek Station State Historical Park. Rock Creek Station was established in 1857 along the Oregon and California trails. It was a supply center and resting spot for westward emigrants and later became a Pony Express relay station.
