Surplus trout stocked in Frenchman No. 1

Catchable-size rainbow trout were stocked in Frenchman No. 1 north of Palisade on May 12 to enhance fishing opportunities this spring. A good production year has left Rock Creek Hatchery with 770 extra rainbow trout, which were stocked at Frenchman and will provide local anglers the opportunity to bag a different species. LINCOLN, Neb. — Rock Creek Lake State Recreation Area and Rock Creek Hatchery in Dundy County are closed until further notice after a Thursday night storm washed out access roads. The storm dumped enough rain that Rock Creek Lake rose 10 inches, said Beau Licking, Enders and Rock Creek Lake SRA superintendent.
