Rainbow trout stocked at Crystal Springs

LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission stocked 900 rainbow trout at Crystal Springs Park in Fairbury on Nov. 6. The stocking by the Grove Trout Rearing Station in Royal had been delayed by the presence of fish-eating cormorants, which have since left the area. Trout stocking at Crystal Springs delayed

LINCOLN, Neb. — The stocking of rainbow trout at Crystal Springs Park in Fairbury has been delayed until a population of cormorants departs the area. Once the fish-eating birds leave, the Grove Trout Rearing Station in Royal will contact city officials, likely next week, and schedule a date to deliver and stock 1,000 trout. Two Omaha rainbow trout stockings rescheduled

LINCOLN, Neb. – Catchable-size rainbow trout will be stocked in three Omaha waters Oct. 16. The Grove Trout Rearing Station in Antelope County will stock 450 trout at Hitchcock Park Pond, 300 at Towl Park Pond and 3,750 at Standing Bear Lake. The stockings at Hitchcock and Towl parks were scheduled for Oct. 15, but snow in Omaha over the weekend left the grass wet in areas where the stocking truck would have to drive. Two Rivers trout lake to open March 10

LINCOLN, Neb. – The trout lake at Two Rivers State Recreation Area (SRA) will open for family fishing March 10. The trout lake will be stocked with 9,000 11- to 12-inch rainbow trout.
