Park Events Reinstated at Fort Atkinson, Alexandria; Sandy Channel and Long Pine will Remain Open

LINCOLN, Neb. – Communities in Nebraska continue to rally around their state park areas to reinstate events and delay temporary closures. The Candlelight Tour on Nov. 2 is back on the calendar at Fort Atkinson State Historical Park (SHP) near Fort Calhoun. Alexandria State Recreation Area (SRA) near Fairbury will remain open through Oct. 20 to accommodate a Halloween event Oct. 18-19. 2013 Nebraska State Parks Summer Schedule

LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraskans have more than 70 state park areas to enjoy this summer. These parks offer a variety of activities for all ages. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission offers the following summer park schedule, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, to help Nebraskans plan vacations or trips to parks.
