Gobbler #3 – The Chocolate Tom

My 2013 Nebraska spring wild turkey hunting season is complete. Took Gobbler #3 Saturday evening hunting in the woodlands of northern Douglas County with Son Zach Wagner. Thanks for shooting the pics, Zach! What a beautiful bird! A Nice Opening Day Gobbler

Sharing a couple quick pics of a nice gobbler I was able to take on this beautiful opening day of Nebraska’s spring shotgun wild turkey hunting season in northern Douglas County. Decided to go ‘old school’  spring shotgun turkey hunting — no decoys, no blind, just camo, calls and face paint! AFTERNOON IN THE ABYSS FOR THE MIGHTY CANADA

Spent an afternoon in the abyss of dense fog near the confluence of the Elkhorn and Platte Rivers yesterday in search of the mighty Canada goose. Decided not to put out any decoys or use the layout blinds because that fog was so thick.
