Game and Parks, Gering PD, responded to mountain lion on video

Nebraska Game and Parks Commission conservation officers and the Gering Police Department responded to the occurrence of a mountain lion on a security video twice recently. A mountain lion was recorded on a video in south Gering on March 9, then in a different part of town at 3 a.m. Sunday. It is not known if the animal seen on both videos is the same. Mountain lion observed on video in Scottsbluff

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has confirmed a mountain lion was observed on video crossing a yard on the west side of Scottsbluff in the early morning on Nov. 19. The video was taken from a doorbell camera. Mountain lions that are found within city limits will be euthanized if it can safely be done, in accordance with the Commission’s Mountain Lion Response Plan. LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Game and Parks Commission officials have confirmed that a mountain lion reported within the city limits of Gordon was killed by the Gordon Police Department on the evening of Monday, Nov. 5. The response was consistent with Game and Parks’ policy for addressing occurrences of mountain lions in municipalities. The policy may be found in the Nebraska Mountain Lion Response Plan.
