Gobbler #3 – The Chocolate Tom

My 2013 Nebraska spring wild turkey hunting season is complete. Took Gobbler #3 Saturday evening hunting in the woodlands of northern Douglas County with Son Zach Wagner. Another Great Gobbler Experience in Nebraska!

I was fortunate enough to have another great gobbler experience this weekend here in Nebraska and was even able to bag yet another bearded bird in northern Douglas County yesterday! I had to really work to bag this adult gobbler with his thick 9-inch beard and 1-inch spurs. The toms were active but the birds were pretty well bunched up probably due to the weather. A Nice Opening Day Gobbler

Sharing a couple quick pics of a nice gobbler I was able to take on this beautiful opening day of Nebraska’s spring shotgun wild turkey hunting season in northern Douglas County. Decided to go ‘old school’  spring shotgun turkey hunting — no decoys, no blind, just camo, calls and face paint!
