LINCOLN – A public informational meeting will be held June 1 in Ogallala regarding the Lake McConaughy/Lake Ogallala Master Plan, which is being developed. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will host the meeting, which will include a short presentation of goals and objectives created by the advisory committee, and a question-and-answer session in which public comment will be recorded. Walleye Egg Collections to Begin April 4

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will collect spawning walleyes from Sherman Reservoir, Merritt Reservoir and Lake McConaughy in April. The collection goal to meet 2016 walleye stocking requests is approximately 78 million eggs. As of April 1, a designated area along the dam at Sherman is closed to bank anglers and boats following sunset. The collection at Sherman will begin the night of April 4. Commission Holds Meeting at Lake McConaughy

LINCOLN – Nebraska’s second largest tourism attraction, Lake McConaughy, was the location of the May 15 Nebraska Game and Parks Commission meeting. The meeting took place at the Visitor and Interpretive Center. The Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory (RMBO) reported on its work with partners to conserve birds in Nebraska and across the Great Plains and Rocky Mountains. Commission to Meet at Lake McConaughy on May 15

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will meet on May 15 beginning at 7:45 a.m. at the Lake McConaughy Visitor and Water Interpretive Center, 1475 Highway 61N. It is that time of year again and Nebraska fisheries workers are on their annual Easter egg hunt–for walleye eggs.  If you missed this, here is the official news release: Game and Parks Commission to begin Walleye Egg Collection LINCOLN — The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission plans to begin collecting adult, spawning walleyes in late March.
