LINCOLN, Neb. — The Martin Bay boat ramp at Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area will temporarily close to public access Dec. 3. The closure comes just ahead of a one-year, $3 million capital improvement project for the Martin Bay and Cedar View areas of the reservoir, slated to begin the week of Dec. 7. Commissioners adopt waterfowl season recommendations

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission adopted 2020/2021 waterfowl hunting season recommendations at its March 20 meeting in Hastings. Before approving, commissioners changed some duck season dates in zones 2 and 3 to allow for a Saturday opening day. LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is reminding park visitors and area residents of the mandatory permitting process for tractors operating on the beaches of Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area (SRA). Game and Parks has created a simple, required permitting process that follows state park regulations and allows for more towing operations on McConaughy’s beaches. LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is seeking information on vandalism at Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area. The Martin Bay RV dump station was damaged beyond repair sometime between the night of Oct. 15 and Oct. 16. There are no suspects at this time. LINCOLN – Lake McConaughy-area residents are encouraged to participate in a trash cleanup day Nov. 5 at the state recreation area (SRA). LINCOLN – The Spring Park primitive campground at Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area has reopened. The campground was closed for cleanup after it sustained storm damage Labor Day weekend. The National Weather Service estimated winds in the area of more than 65 mph, which caused significant tree and road damage.
