Sight-in range at Killdeer to temporarily close

LINCOLN, Neb. — The rifle sight-in range at Killdeer Wildlife Management Area in Lancaster County will briefly close sometime between Aug. 16 and Sept. 1 for a fence project. A new fence will be installed along the perimeter of the WMA during that timeframe, weather depending. LINCOLN, Neb. – The sight-in range at Killdeer Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Lancaster County and the prairie chicken viewing blinds at Burchard Lake WMA in Pawnee County have been closed temporarily by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. LINCOLN, Neb. – A firearm sight-in range is being built at Killdeer Wildlife Management Area in Lancaster County. It is designed as a safe, user-friendly facility to allow hunters an opportunity to sight-in a rifle or handgun. The range will be 100 yards in length. It will include a single steel bench for both left- and right-hand shooters, earthen berms, target holder with additional steel target gongs and sliding steel panels to close the range for safe operation. LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will host two public informational meetings to discuss the proposed placement of a single bench and berm for hunters to sight-in firearms at Killdeer Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Lancaster County.
