Firearm deer season opens Nov. 10

LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska’s nine-day firearm deer season opens Nov. 10, giving individuals an opportunity to share a hunt with family or friends. As of Nov. 5, deer permits remain in the following management units: Blue Southeast, Buffalo Whitetail, Calamus East, Calamus West, Keya Paha, Loup East, Loup West, Missouri, Plains, and Platte Whitetail. LINCOLN, Neb. – Hunters can make a cash donation to the Hunters Helping the Hungry (HHH) program when they purchase their 2018 deer permit. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission seeks cash donations to HHH so it can continue to feed Nebraskans in need by providing ground venison. Each dollar donated provides two meals of ground venison. Deer hunting prospects looking good for 2017

LINCOLN, Neb. – Excitement and anticipation are building for Nebraskans as the Nov. 11 opener of firearm deer season approaches. Deer populations for 2017 are higher for mule deer and about the same for whitetails. Favorable habitat and weather conditions this past year should provide for good fawn production and good survival of adults and fawns.
