Going to blog about a blog today.  The current issue of Nebraskaland magazine has an article by Justin Haag, Nebraska’s Fishing State Park?  Simply put, follow the link! Justin’s article is an excellent run down of the fishing opportunities on and near Ft. Robinson.  There are a bunch, and if you are spending any time at Ft. Rob, your fishing gear better be with you!  With recent Aquatic Habitat projects completed and ongoing, the fishing at Ft. Rob is better …

Adventure Report, Wedding Trip

P8170016 (2)

I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I would be “outta the office” for some time for my daughter’s wedding.  I also hinted that we were making a little trip for the wedding and that the fishing gear was definitely going along.  Time to give you a report. . . . That trip was to one of our favorite places, western Nebraska.  More specifically, we spent some time at Ft. Robinson.  The wedding went great, we had a great time …

Back in March I blogged about the Aquatic Habitat Rehabilitation project at Ft. Robinson.  Yes, we have a number of fishing waters on and near Ft. Robinson and we are in the midst of a major rehabilitation project on those waters.  I had some photos of the project near completion back in March, have some even better ones since completion now.  There was also a news release a few weeks ago that I want to dust off and share again …

One of the biggest Aquatic Habitat rehabilitation projects we are working on right now is out at Ft. Robinson.  Yes, that is way out in northwest Nebraska, and yes, you should make a trip there sometime!  There are a lot of fishing opportunities in and near Ft. Fall Tour

img_0425a

I had some meetings to attend “out west” a couple of weeks ago.  That gave me a chance to re-visit some places I do not get to nearly enough.  Fall is one of the prettiest times to be there.  I had to stop and catch my breath when I finally saw the end of the road. The view was just as pretty looking back from whence I had just come. Here is one of the cathedrals I visited. And looking …

Adventure Report–“Back in White”

It had been awhile, but my family and I finally were able to get back to the western Nebraska panhandle last week.  We stayed a couple of nights at Ft. Robinson, and did a lot of things while we were out “west”:  senior pictures, attended a wedding, saw a lot of sights, and spent time with family.  But, you know the fishing gear went with us and my son and I put it to use. The Pine Ridge region of …
