LINCOLN – Enjoy a movie under the stars at Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park on July 22 with the screening of “The Trial of Standing Bear.” The movie, which begins at 9:30 p.m., tells the story of Ponca chief Standing Bear’s 1879 trial, in which he successfully argued that a Native American was a “person” under the law. Birds at the Fort Event Set for June 4

LINCOLN – Spend a morning with the birds at Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park’s (SHP) Birds at the Fort event on June 4. Beginning at 9 a.m., participants will receive hands-on instruction on how to identify local bird species and how to choose and use binoculars. Participants will then use their newfound skills while hiking around the fort. The morning will wrap up with a presentation by Nebraska’s Raptor Recovery group. LINCOLN – Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park will host the summer celebration Rally ’Round the Flag, Boys! on Aug. 22-23 to commemorate the re-dedication of the newly painted Post flagpole. The flagpole re-dedication will take place at noon on Aug. 22. LINCOLN, Neb. – The Antique Appraisal Fair will be held July 6 at Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park near Burwell. LINCOLN, Neb. – The Fremont Pathfinders re-enactors will portray life as soldiers at a 1870s infantry outpost on the Great Plains at Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park on May 25-26.
