Remember Pearl Harbor at Fort Atkinson SHP

LINCOLN, Neb. – Visitors to Fort Atkinson State Historical Park can see a special “Remember Pearl Harbor!” exhibit Dec. 4-8. The exhibit, which includes a documentary video, can be viewed from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Visitor Center. Admittance to the Visitor Center is $2 for adults and $1 for children ages 3-12. Fort Atkinson living history event to include Holocaust speaker, military vehicles

LINCOLN, Neb. – Fort Atkinson State Historical Park will host a special living history event Aug. 31-Sept. 1, featuring World War II military vehicles and a presentation on the Holocaust. The Holocaust presentation is set for 1-2 p.m. in the visitor center both days, given by a speaker from the Institute for Holocaust Education. Enjoy unique 5K race Aug. 17 at Fort Atkinson SHP

LINCOLN, Neb. – For a unique 5K race experience, sign up for the Cannon Fire 5K, to be held Aug. 17 at Fort Atkinson State Historical Park. Fort Atkinson SHP residence to be burned March 3

LINCOLN, Neb. – Fort Atkinson State Historical Park will be closed to all vehicle traffic while an old residence at the park is burned March 3. The Fort Calhoun Fire Department will burn down the structure as a training exercise. The alternate date for the burn is March 4. Rubble left following the burn will be hauled off site to a licensed landfill. The house is in poor condition and has been cleared for disposal.
