Access road to Dead Timber SRA now open

LINCOLN, Neb. – Access to Dead Timber State Recreation Area (SRA) in Dodge County now is available via County Road B off U.S. Hwy. 275. The area’s electrical campsites are available, as well. Dead Timber was damaged by the flooding of the Elkhorn River in March. Areas of the SRA remain walk-in only, and no vehicle traffic is allowed beyond any barricades. A park entry permit is required.

Riverview Marina SRA temporarily closed due to high water; other areas take precautions

LINCOLN, Neb. – Riverview Marina State Recreation Area (SRA) in Otoe County is temporarily closed to the public. Rising water levels in the Missouri River led Nebraska Game and Parks Commission staff to close the area Tuesday. Riverview Marina SRA is adjacent to the Missouri River and offers river access. Several State Recreation Areas Affected by High Water

LINCOLN – Heavy spring rains have led to soggy conditions at three state recreation areas in Nebraska. Louisville, Two Rivers and Dead Timber state recreation areas, all of which are adjacent to rivers, have all been affected by high water levels. Users should be cautioned that access to area roads, campgrounds, toilets and other facilities could be limited.
