Cowboy Trail Master Plan Meeting in Rushville Rescheduled for Dec. 16

LINCOLN – The public informational meeting scheduled for Dec. 15 in Rushville on the development of a master plan for the Cowboy Recreation and Nature Trail has been postponed until Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. because of inclement weather. The meeting will take place at the Security First Retail Center, 110 E. 2nd St. Staff from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the Nebraska Tourism Commission will make short presentations at the beginning of the meeting. LINCOLN – The public is invited to attend any of six public information sessions in December and comment on the development of a master plan for the Cowboy Recreation and Nature Trail. Staff from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the Nebraska Tourism Commission will make short presentations at the beginning of each session. Public Invited to Dedication of Cowboy Trail Section in Sheridan County

LINCOLN – There will be a dedication and celebration on Oct. 3 in Rushville for the construction of bridges and benches built along two sections of completed Cowboy and Recreation and Nature Trail in Sheridan County. The public is invited to the 7:30 p.m. dedication at the Rushville American Legion Club, 206 Sprague St. State Sen. Segment of Cowboy Trail Near Oakdale Temporarily Closed

LINCOLN – A segment of the Cowboy Recreation and Nature Trail east of Oakdale in Antelope County is temporarily closed for repairs of damage from recent heavy rains. The trail approach to a bridge 3 miles east of Oakdale is washed out. Nebraska Game and Parks Commission trail personnel are working with local contractors to get the bridge and trail surface repaired. The public will be notified when the trail is re-opened.
