DeTavernier first girl to win Cornhusker Cup

DONIPHAN, Neb. – You might think Payton DeTavernier, like many people, might be nervous entering a shoot-off for the Cornhusker Cup. You’d be wrong. Hlavac a veteran of 44 Cornhusker Trapshoots

DONIPHAN, Neb. – The Cornhusker Trapshoot is celebrating its 50th year in 2019. Les Hlavac has seen 44 of them. That’s how long the Louisville resident has been bringing school shooters to the event. He’s current coach of the NV (Nemaha Valley) Trap Team, which includes students from six schools. DONIPHAN, Neb. – Luke Beckman of Malcom 4-H broke 98 of 100 clay targets at 16 yards to win the junior high competition in the 50th Cornhusker Trapshoot on Thursday. Josie Lange of Karp & Krow 4-H (Burwell) had the girls’ highest score at 89. The girls’ top team was Raymond Central with a 323 of 500. Platte Valley Claybusters 4-H (Mitchell) was the top 4-H with a 453, and Sutton was the top junior high team with a 448. …

Howe will try to win back-to-back Cornhusker Cups

LINCOLN, Neb. – Hunter Howe of the Platte Valley Claybusters 4-H club will defend his Cornhusker Cup this week at the 50th Cornhusker Trapshoot. Nearly 2,400 students are expected to compete in the event May 2-4 on the home grounds of the Nebraska Trapshooting Association in Doniphan, Nebraska. Christiansen perfect in winning two titles at Cornhusker Trapshoot

DONIPHAN, Neb. – Max Christiansen of Norris had a perfect day Friday. He broke all 235 targets he shot at and won two championships at the 49th Cornhusker Trapshoot. He won the 16-yard individual title and the high school team crown in the senior high competition. Christiancy wins 2017 Cornhusker Cup

DONIPHAN, Neb. – Trent Christiancy of Young Guns 4-H of Hildreth ruled the field Saturday in the senior high competition of the 48th Cornhusker Cup. His handicap score of 74 of 75 was the day’s best. Combined with the 73 he shot at 16 yards on Friday, it propelled him to the Cornhusker Cup with a 147. Blair’s Weston Zolck finished second overall at 145 after taking second Friday at 16 yards. Lincoln Pius’ Alberts wins 16-yard title at Cornhusker Trapshoot

DONIPHAN, Neb. – Friday’s senior high school 16-yard competition in the 48th Cornhusker Trapshoot was just a warmup for the top two finishers. In the end, Trevin Alberts of Lincoln Pius X came out on top. Alberts broke all 75 of his targets, then hit 174 of 175 targets to survive nine challengers in a shoot-off to win the title.
