Brady Interstate Lake Boat Ramp In the past year we have completed some new boat ramps and angler access improvements on several interstate lakes in the North Platte area.  One of those was the interstate lake at the Brady interchange.  There are some “finishing touches” that need to be done on that ramp …

Burchard Lake Boat Ramp Now Open

LINCOLN – The new boat launch facility at Burchard Lake in Pawnee County is now open for public use. Recent rains in the area have increased water levels to near conservation pool, allowing for boat launching from the new ramp. An aquatic habitat rehabilitation project was completed at Burchard in 2013. The lake was drawn down 11 feet during the project so the outlet structure could be repaired, while maintaining the high-quality fishery. The lake has been filling slowly since …

Oh Happy Day!

Without a doubt Burchard Reservoir is one of our best fisheries in southeast Nebraska.  The reservoir has a watershed comprised almost entirely of grass and because of that, even though it is a relatively old reservoir, it maintains excellent water quality, great habitat including an abundance of aquatic vegetation, and quality fishing for largemouth bass, panfish and channel catfish.  Over the years, the outlet structure on the Burchard dam had deteriorated to the point that it needed replaced.  That project was …

Enders’ Center Dam Boat Ramp Can Launch Small Craft

LINCOLN – Because of a rising lake level following recent rains, the boat ramp at the Center Dam Area of Enders Reservoir State Recreation Area (SRA) can be used for launching small boats and personal watercraft. The dock has been put in place and the boat ramp, which has been out of service approximately a year because of a low lake level, can accommodate small boats that don’t require a lot of water to launch and low-profile trailers. Enders Reservoir …
