Boat ramp now open at Indian Cave State Park

LINCOLN, Neb. – The boat ramp at Indian Cave State Park is open for use following repairs. During the brief closure, silt was removed from the area, a guardrail was replaced and riprap was repaired along the bank. An entry permit is required of each vehicle entering Indian Cave State Park, which is located in Nemaha and Richardson counties. Damaged Calamus boat ramp closed temporarily

LINCOLN, Neb. – The west lane of the Nunda Shoals boat ramp at Calamus Reservoir State Recreation Area in Loup County is closed temporarily due to damage. The lane will remain closed at least until the water level drops low enough so park staff can assess the damage to the boat ramp. The east lane of the ramp remains open. Funniest Place on Earth

I have seen a lot of funny things happen at boat ramps.  The hotter, busier the boat ramp, the better it gets. Watched a fiberglass inboard/outboard get deposited about ten feet short of the water one time.  The crunching sound sent shivers up my back. Medicine Creek’s Trail 4 boat ramp closed during irrigation releases

LINCOLN, Neb. – Medicine Creek Reservoir’s Trail 4 boat ramp has been closed temporarily due to receding water from irrigation releases. The ramp should be back in service in September or October, depending on inflows back into the Frontier County reservoir after releases are shut down. “The closing of this ramp is typical for this time of year with irrigation releases from the reservoir,” said Aric Riggins, southwest regional park superintendent for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. “It happens …

Calamus’ Buckshot Bay ramp to temporarily close July 13

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Buckshot Bay boat ramp at Calamus State Recreation Area near Burwell will be closed temporarily Monday, July 13 to repair the dock damaged by a weekend storm. The ramp is expected to reopen by mid-afternoon. Additionally, the storm damaged some trees at Sherman Reservoir State Recreation Area near Loup City. Mulberry Bend WMA boat ramp closed due to damage

LINCOLN, Neb. – The boat ramp at Mulberry Bend Wildlife Management Area in Dixon County is closed temporarily due to damage from recent rains. Rains have caused undercutting and erosion under large portions of the ramp. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is working to repair the ramp. Memphis Lake boat ramp closed temporarily

LINCOLN, Neb. – The boat ramp at Memphis Lake in Saunders County is closed temporarily because of low water. The lake has been drawn down to facilitate a wetland restoration project, and large rocks at the end of the boat ramp have been exposed. The wetland restoration project, a joint effort of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, Nebraska Environmental Trust and Ducks Unlimited, is expected to improve wildlife habitat, increase wetland management capabilities, and improve hunter access.
