Birders Get Unique Opportunity at Lake Minatare

LINCOLN – The public will have a unique opportunity for viewing birds during an event at Lake Minatare State Recreation Area on Dec. 6. Northeast District Birding Day Set for May 20

LINCOLN – Birders of all experience levels are invited to join the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for the Northeast District Birding Day on May 20 at Grove Lake Wildlife Management Area (WMA). Flights of birders will depart from the WMA maintenance shop at 6:15 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. A lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. for $5. Birders may continue on their own following lunch. Kimball County Plans Birding Tours

LINCOLN – The birds of the southwestern Panhandle of Nebraska will be highlighted during a two-month series of Watchable Wildlife Tours sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory and the Kimball County Tourism Department. The series, titled “For the Birds,” will run March 15-May 15. All tours will depart from the High Point Welcome Center at exit 20 along Interstate 80. Go Birding at Ponca State Park on May 15

LINCOLN, Neb. – Birders of all experience levels are invited to attend Northeast District Birding Day with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission on May 15 at Ponca State Park. Several birding opportunities are scheduled throughout the day, beginning at 6 a.m. at the park office. Birders should bring binoculars and field guides, if they have them, as well as sunscreen, insect repellant and the appropriate clothing and footwear.
