Archery, Shooting Events Available for Women in June

LINCOLN – Women interested in learning all aspects of archery shooting are invited to participate in a series of classes this summer at Platte River State Park. The Beyond Becoming and Outdoors-Woman (BOW) program will host classes each Wednesday in June from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Roger G. Sykes Outdoor Heritage Education Complex. The cost is $5 per class. Pound Middle School to Host NASP Tournament in Lincoln

LINCOLN – A statewide youth archery tournament will take place at the Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln on Feb. 7. The tournament, hosted by Pound Middle School in Lincoln, is open to any participant in the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). Game and Parks to Debut Outdoor Encounter at Nebraska State Fair

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will debut a state-of-the art interactive outdoor experience – Outdoor Encounter – at the 2014 Nebraska State Fair. The Outdoor Encounter includes an aquarium, archery range and shooting gallery. The Outdoor Encounter, housed in the new Nebraska Building, includes a 5,900-gallon aquarium stocked with more than 150 fish commonly found in Nebraska.
