Niobrara SP to be without power June 4

LINCOLN, Neb. – Electricity to Niobrara State Park will be shut off from 1-5 p.m. on June 4 so the Nebraska Public Power District can work on a substation near Lynch. The park’s pool will be closed all day and the cabins and RV campground will be without power. Power will be off from Lynch east to the Niobrara River. The park’s pool should be open by June 10.

National Trails Day in state parks is June 3

LINCOLN, Neb. – Get outdoors and celebrate National Trails Day on June 3 in Nebraska’s state parks. Activities will be held in three state park areas to commemorate the day. Conservation officers to conduct special patrols

LINCOLN, Neb. – From June through August, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission conservation officers, in conjunction with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol, will conduct special enforcement patrols focusing on state recreation areas (SRA) and other Commission-managed property in Lancaster County. Disc golfers to compete in 3-disc challenge at Chadron State Park

CHADRON – As many as 45 disc golfers are expected to compete Saturday, May 27, in the first Chadron State Park Gateway 3-disc Challenge, a tournament set at the park’s popular course which was recently expanded from nine to 18 holes with many new baskets and the addition of concrete tee boxes.
