Prescribed fires set for Schramm Park SRA through April

LINCOLN, Neb. – Prescribed fires will be conducted at Schramm Park State Recreation Area in Sarpy County through the end of April as weather allows. These fires are part of an ongoing oak woodland restoration project and will help control the spread of invasive plants. LINCOLN, Neb. – A plan to redevelop the flood-prone Dead Timber State Recreation Area is being created, and the public is encouraged to participate by giving feedback. Infrastructure upgrades highlight Lake Minatare projects

Repairs completed on two boat ramps in northeast Nebraska parks

LINCOLN, Neb. – Boating prospects in northeast Nebraska are looking up with the completion of two state park area projects in 2020. The completion of a second boat ramp at Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area’s Weigand Marina will alleviate long lines of boats waiting to put in or take out. VALENTINE, Neb. – Visitors to Merritt Reservoir State Recreation Area have a new place to gather the shade. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission recently installed a new 988-square-foot shelter at the Cedar Bay area. The $100,000 cost of the project was equally divided between the Game and Parks Capital Maintenance Fund and a grant from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Fort Robinson State Park expanding campsites for RVs

CRAWFORD, Neb. – There will be more happy campers at Fort Robinson State Park. Or, at least there will be room for them. The park is adding 42 new pads to the Red Cloud Campground, which serves visitors seeking full hookups for their recreational vehicles and campers.
