More than 100 hunters complete Nebraska Upland Slam

LINCOLN, Neb. – The second year of the Nebraska Upland Slam gave more than 200 hunters a reason to take advantage of the state’s excellent mixed-bag hunting opportunities. South Subunit mountain lion season closed effective immediately

LINCOLN, Neb. – The mountain lion harvest season in the South Subunit of the Pine Ridge is closed effective immediately, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The harvest limit of four mountain lions (one female and three males) has been reached. LINCOLN, Neb. – A bull elk tag and a multispecies combination permit will be auctioned off by the Nebraska Big Game Society (NBGS) on April 9 in Lincoln. LINCOLN, Neb. – Hunting equipment now is available for rent by the public at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Outdoor Adventure Center. Rental has been offered to the university’s students for about a year, and recently expanded to allow the public to rent the equipment, too. Eastern redcedar (juniperus virginiana), with its fragrant foliage and purplish “berries,” doesn’t look like a threat.
