Arctic Opener A Good Thing

The recent arctic blast should prove to be a huge bonus for deer hunters this weekend.  Plunging temps should result …

We are now just under one week away from the opening day of Nebraska’s largest hunt – the firearm deer hunting season. It opens this Saturday, November 15th. I can hardly wait! This is one of the absolute best times of year to be outside with the deer rut happening! November. Too much to do?

Welcome to November and all it has to offer in its short 30-day span.  For the hunter the toughest part may be choosing just what to chase next. There are a good number of local Canada geese around the state and there will be more added as it cools down further north. Bird season is open and you can pursue grouse, chickens, pheasant and quail.  (and …

Capturing Cool Moments

“To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.” ~Henri Cartier-Bresson I have seen many cool things when I’ve been outdoors here in Nebraska, especially hunting. I just love being in the field! Years ago though, I never, ever packed a camera on my outdoor adventures. I know, I know, shame on me! But, now I bring a camera on every one of my outdoor expeditions. …
