This survey is conducted every five years and is designed to gather hunter information about experiences, attitudes and opinions related to the 2015 deer season. 2016 Hunt Permits Required for 2015 Late Seasons

LINCOLN – Now that the calendar has flipped to a new year, late-season hunters and trappers of small game, waterfowl and furbearers must have a 2016 hunt (small game) or fur harvest permit. A 2016 Nebraska Habitat Stamp is also required for most hunts. The seasons for small game species pheasant, quail, partridge, grouse and squirrel close Jan. 31. Spring Turkey Permits Available Beginning Jan. 11

LINCOLN – Spring turkey hunting permits will be available from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission starting at 1 p.m. Central Time on Jan. 11. The 2016 permit prices, including issuing fee, are: resident turkey, $25; nonresident turkey, $97; resident landowner, $13.50; nonresident landowner, $49.50; and resident and nonresident youth turkey, $7. Producers Have Jan. 15 Deadline to Apply for Grassland Bird Habitat Funding

LINCOLN – Producers in south central and southeastern Nebraska have until Jan. 15 to apply for funding to help improve grasslands for grazing and wildlife. A partnership has been formed among the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Pheasants Forever, Audubon Nebraska, and other entities through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP).
