Special enforcement aimed at reduction of accidents on SRAs

LINCOLN – Conservation officers with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission conducted special enforcement patrols during the summer on state recreation areas in Lancaster County. These efforts were designed to help ensure users have a safe and enjoyable experience on Commission-managed areas. Enforcement efforts aimed to reduce serious and fatal vehicle and boat accidents resulted in seven arrests for driving under the influence and two for boating under the influence. Muzzleloader Sight-In and Family Rendezvous Oct. 9 at Platte River State Park

LINCOLN – Learn everything there is to know about muzzleloaders at the Muzzleloader Sight-In and Family Rendezvous on Oct. 9 at Platte River State Park. The event will be held at the Roger G. Watchable Wildlife Grants, funded through the Wildlife Conservation Fund, help to develop wildlife-viewing and nature-based experiences in Nebraska. LINCOLN – Just in time for the fall turkey season, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has finished its analysis of a survey of spring turkey hunters. According to survey results, spring turkey hunters enjoyed a high rate of success in Nebraska in 2016. More turkeys were harvested during the 2016 spring season compared to 2015, despite a slight drop in the number of permits sold.
