Some Boat Ramp News

Got a news item today that will not affect many Nebraska anglers, but it will some.  In fact, I heard some questions can comments about these ramps at the Omaha Sport Show.  So, to spread the news, some of you will want to know:

Riverview Marina, Brownville Riverside Park boat ramps temporarily closed for repairs

Boating access improvements at Riverview Marina State Recreation Area in Nebraska City and Brownville Riverside Park will begin March 13. Boat ramps at those areas will be closed until further notice so repairs can be made.

Significant erosion, caused by water current and wave action, must be addressed before further damage occurs to these ramps. Riprap will be restored around the perimeter of the existing ramps and the dock at Riverview Marina will be refurbished. Repair work is expected to take up to three weeks, depending on weather conditions.

These projects are made possible through the sale of Nebraska fishing and hunting permits.

Questions can be directed to ngpc.boatingaccess@nebraska.gov.
