ASHLAND, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and Go Ape, the nation’s premier Zipline & Adventure Park company, opened two new additions to the already popular Treetop Adventure course at the Eugene T. Mahoney State Park on July 11.

The new activities — the Treetop Journey course and Monkey Drop freefall activity, give guests of all ages more opportunities for aerial adventure. It is a welcome addition to the robust amenities already available to families at the state park.

“We’re thrilled to open a Journey course in Mahoney Park that can engage entire families and further support our mission to inspire everyone to live life adventurously,” said Go Ape Chief Operating Officer Jason Budden. “It is a great option for kids and adults who want an introduction to aerial adventure.”

Go Ape’s Treetop Journey course is a fun-filled experience of tree-to-tree crossings, including 20 obstacles and two zip lines, 25 feet above the ground. Safety systems ensure participants stay attached the entire time they are on the course. The Go Ape Monkey Drop is targeted at thrill seekers willing to climb 40-feet up in the air to complete a 10-foot freefall before being lowered securely down to the ground.

“The Monkey Drop gives a more challenging option for guests that want an adrenaline rush,” Budden said. “With these additions, all guests should have an opportunity to take an adventure with Go Ape, up in the trees!”
