Youth Fishing Instructor Training, Spring 2017

I want to publicize this class one more time!

Become a certified youth fishing instructor April 1

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will certify youth fishing instructors April 1 at the Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln.

This free training will take place at the education center, located at 4703 N. 44th St., from 9 a.m. to noon.

Fishing instructors will receive training and tools to conduct youth fishing clinics. These volunteers will have access to Nebraska Game and Parks’ loaner fishing equipment and educational materials for events, as well as receive program incentives. They also are encouraged to volunteer for such Game and Parks programs as Family Fishing Nights and the Outdoor Expos.

To reserve a spot in this workshop, contact Larry Pape at larry.pape@nebraska.gov.

Let me say again that our youth fishing instructors are a tremendous asset.  There are a host of Expos, family fishing events, and other workshops that we just plain could not get done without the help of our great bunch of volunteer youth fishing instructors.  If you love to fish, you can get involved too; this is a great way to encourage others, and get them “hooked” on fishing!  Careful, if you get involved you will find it very rewarding!
