I suppose I may be the only one who is still fishing open water. As I said before, yes I am crazy, crazy like a fox. When I can walk on it, then my open-water fishing will be over for the year (and my ice-fishing will begin!). So, no, I am not done fishing open water yet, will dry some more off before it freezes.
I may be in the minority, but there still may be a few others that will slip out to Lake Wanahoo yet this fall. There are pike there, and pike are very catchable in cold water! If you are planning that, you better be aware of this:
Lake Wanahoo West Entrance Temporarily Closed
LINCOLN – The west entrance to Lake Wanahoo State Recreation Area will be closed to public access beginning on Nov. 18 while the entrance road to the park is paved.
During this time, the campground and boat ramp will also be closed for public use. The paving project is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, weather permitting. If the weather delays construction for more than two weeks, the paving contractor will open a temporary access road that will remain in place until the project can be completed.
The paving project is a joint effort between Nebraska Game and Parks and the Lower Platte North Natural Resources District.

Weather patterns right now are pushing a ton of waterfowl south. From what I am hearing both on this interwebby thing and out on the water, if you are a waterfowl hunter, quit your job, call in sick, whatever, go hunt, NOW!
Have a great weekend everyone!
