Grab a life jacket and hop aboard, we’re gonna canoe the spring-fed waters of the gorgeous Niobrara River east of Valentine, NE this week on my WOWT 6 News Weekly Outdoor Report. I’ll talk about and show you why a summer float trip on this Nebraska water trail through an outfitter should be on everyone’s bucket list! Weekday trips are strongly suggested to avoid a lot of other water traffic on this scenic river.
The ecologically unique Niobrara River valley is also home to the state’s tallest waterfall at Smith Falls State Park.
Don’t miss the broadcast! It airs on Omaha’s WOWT 6 LIVE Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. CST during the station’s sportscast. Video replays of the outdoor report are always available after the initial cast here. The report can be accessed on Digital Channel 6.2 and Cox Cable Channel 120 as well. An additional reminder that WOWT 6 Sports runs The Weekly Outdoor Report on Saturdays later in its hour-long 8 a.m. CST newscast.
Thanks for watching in advance and we hope to get you and your family on the Niobrara River before summer’s end! I’ll bet you can’t stand underneath this cold, spring-fed waterfall (Berry Falls) along the river for more than 10 seconds, HA!
