Get ready, in the Omaha-Metro area the indoor outdoors-related event season kicks off this weekend! So, I thought it would be the ideal time to prepare a list of upcoming these events for you to have.

Look for us – your Nebraska Game and Parks Commission employees at these upcoming outdoors-related events around the metro area:

– River City Hunting, Fishing, Boat and RV Expo, Jan. 16-18, Mid-America Center, 1 Arena Way, Council Bluffs, IA

– Outdoorsman/woman Flea Market and Garage Sale, Feb. 14 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., Ramada Inn Convention Center (“Nebraska Ballroom”), 72nd & Grover St., Omaha, NE

– Omaha, Boat, Sports and Travel Show, Feb. 19-22, CenturyLink Center, 10th & Cass St., Omaha, NE

– Nebraska Safari Club International 2015 Convention and Expo, March 5-7, Ramada Plaza Hotel & Convention Center, 72nd & Grover St., Omaha, NE

– NOTE: Nebraska Buck N Bird Classic is scheduled to be held on July 18 & 19 at the Ralston Arena, 73rd & Q St., Omaha, NE

A native of Gretna, NE, a graduate of Gretna High School and Bellevue University, Greg Wagner currently serves as the Communications and Marketing Specialist and Manager for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission's Service Center in Omaha. On a weekly basis, Wagner can be heard on a number of radio stations, seen on local television in Omaha, and on social media channels, creatively conveying natural resource conservation messages as well as promoting outdoor activities and destinations in Nebraska. Wagner, whose career at Game and Parks began in 1979, walks, talks, lives, breathes and blogs about Nebraska’s outdoors. He grew up in rural Gretna, building forts in the woods, hunting, fishing, collecting leaves, and generally thriving on constant outdoor activity.
