Public Invited to Meetings About Niobrara River Studies

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission invites the public to attend informational meetings regarding studies completed on the Niobrara River.

Game and Parks will present information from the six studies it has completed about the function and values of the river. Those studies include the science behind the water levels in the river; the economic and social values of recreation on the river; the economic and social values of the river for agricultural, industrial and municipal uses; and the impact river flows have on fish and wildlife.

The meeting schedule is:

— Dec. 8 – Chadron, Upper Niobrara White Natural Resources District, 430 E. Second St., 6:30 p.m.

— Dec. 9 – Valentine, Niobrara Lodge, 803 E. U.S. Highway 20, 6:30 p.m.

— Dec. 10 – Butte, Community Hall, 520 Thayer St., 6:30 p.m.

— Dec. 16 – Lincoln, Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center, 4703 N. 44th St., 6:30 p.m.
